Macaroon (yum!)

What an adorable pattern by Colette. As delicious as a real macaroon. This dress made me nervous because I chose to use a fabric from the "quilting cotton" area of the fabric store instead of the usual fashion fabrics. As much as I love Baton Rouge, the selection of fabric is a major drawback. Luckily, I recently discovered a Joanne's near New Orleans - guess I'll be making more frequent trips to the Crescent City!

On the upside - this cotton is incredibly easy to work with, even if it's not as durable in the long term.

  1. A bit late to comment here, but just want to say that this is definitely one of the nicest Macaron dresses I've seen. Such a pretty fabric. It doesn't look from here like the weight of the fabric is a problem - how is it to wear?

  2. Hi Tilly, thank you so much for the compliment! I spent a lot of time looking at other versions of Macaroon before choosing a fabric combination. The fabric feels a little thin... and I think next time I make this dress (and I'm sure there will be a next time!)I will make it just an inch or two longer.
